Whatever You Do

Back in 2014, I started on a mission.

I wanted to find songs that would engage Aussie preschoolers through movement and teach them about God in ways that touched more of everyday life—not just “God made you” and “God loves you” (as important as those are!).

But when I couldn’t find enough songs like that, I began writing my own.

“Whatever You Do” was one of them.

It’s based on a simple yet deeply profound truth from Scripture:

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31

I was 18 years old when I became a Christian.

I was fresh out of high school, newly saved, and full of excitement for Jesus. I threw myself into prayer, asking Him what career I should pursue.
He was so kind to lead me into speech pathology—but around the same time, I was learning more about His word and discovered this verse, and it rocked me!

You see, serving Jesus wasn’t just about my future job.
It was about everything.

From the way I cleaned my room to how I spoke to my parents…
From everyday chores to life’s biggest decisions (like who I was going to marry!)—all of it belonged to Him.
All of it was to be done for Him.

That’s what this song is all about.

These days, I’m still reminding my own kids of that same truth.

Before a basketball game, we pray they’ll play as if they’re playing for Jesus.
When they grumble about tidying the house, I tell them I used to feel the same—until I realised there’s joy in whatever we do for Him.

🌟 Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our little ones could grasp that from an early age?!

May your children (and mine) grow up knowing that every step, stomp, clap and task can be done for the glory of Jesus.
