It had been a busy Monday…
Back in 2017 —I was the mother of four children under six and home-educating. Despite my tiredness, I usually tried to make it to our church’s Monday night prayer meeting.
Getting there on time? Almost never happened.
But this one evening, it wasn’t the kids or dinner or the mess that made me late… it was something else entirely.
📖 Earlier that day, I had read this verse:
“He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
(Philippians 1:6)
As I was driving to church, the idea for a song began to take shape. I started picturing builders and bakers—working hard at their jobs—and I saw the parallel: God is doing a good work in us, too.
On the set of Good Work
By the time I parked the car, I was full of melody, beat, and excitement. I started drumming the rhythm out on the steering wheel and rummaging for a pen and a scrap of paper to scribble down the lyrics.
When I finally sneaked into the prayer meeting, I was very late.
Luckily, no one asked why…
How could I possibly explain I was held up writing a rock song? 😅😅😅
