God showed you love — how?

To kick things off, today I’m sharing God Showed You Love.

I wrote this song with one of my little sons squirming on my lap.

Having just read 1 John 4:9, I was thinking about all the ways we show each other love.

For a boisterous boy, that often means touchy-feely, jiggly-wiggly physical bonding play!

Nothing beats a rub, pat, squeeze or nuzzle to get you both giggling and brimming over with affection!

Whenever we do this song in our home church, first we talk with the children about how they show someone they love them…
“Do you give your mummy a cuddle?”
“Do you give your dad a squeeze?”

And then I ask — how does God show you He loves you?

What would your answer be?

Because according to 1 John 4:9, God shows us His love by giving us His Son.

And that seals it!

We can always know that God loves us—because He gave His Son.

He loves you. It’s undeniable. Irrefutable.

Even when you don’t feel loveable, or aren’t sure you’re feeling God’s love—indeed He loves you!

You can be sure of it, because He showed it by sending Jesus.
